Thoughts
This is a weird movie, there are clearly parts here that work not excellent but that work. I think SF works, I think the comedy works, I think Paul Rudd works and the main cast work.
I also think a lot of act 1 and 2a work, but I've never seen a 2b and 3 so hard as this movie did.
The sad thing for me is there is a movie somewhere here, it needed a second pass with more focus - no revolution (who cares), no Modak( the cg didn't work), a focus of what was hinted at the trailers but not executed - Scotts search for lost time. I think this is a very interesting theme, and they didn't explore it properly. Parallel this with Janet and I think there is a powerful story here.
Okay let's talk about Kang. I think he was awful and I think that's an understament. There is a very famous concept of show don't tell, and Kang needed that. We needed to see him really being evil, we need to really see him being powerful. I also think him losing so unceremoniously to ants is really lame. Finally I think Kang power set is very lame, he shoots blue strong lasers - wtf bruh. Compare thay to Thanos has is varied attacks in the two movies, as a brute and with the gauntlet.
I think people have pointed this out but I think a lot of the recent mcu movies would be orders of magnitude better if they had half the budget
The mcu is really really over for me after gotg3
Theatre Experience
It was interesting to see the small but fainting cheer for the mcu logo, it is that old love that is fading
I think the intermission definitely messed with the pacing from 2a to 2b
